The 3-star Reed Valley Inn is situated in an area known as the ‘farmyard’ of the Amakhala Game Reserve and is right next to the renowned Bush Lodge. The lodge offers luxury accommodation for up to fourteen guests in a farm style setting with an incredible view over the beautiful Amakhala bushveld. The lodge also faces a wonderful farmyard that provides a tranquil atmosphere as well as a romantic setting. The Bush Lodge acts like a sort of sister lodge to the Reed Valley Inn and guests will be enjoying all their meals and activities from there.
The Reed Valley Inn used to be a place where wagon travellers could rest in-between their journeys and that historical aspect is still prevalent in the rooms of the lodge. Guests will be treated to comfortable and luxurious rooms that are spacious and fully equipped. The Bush Lodge, where guests will be enjoying their activities and meals, is a 5-star establishment that is incredibly stylish and beautifully appointed. Reed Valley Inn has a lovely homey feel that is welcoming and inclusive and makes guests feel relaxed. The Amakhala Game Reserve is known for its excellent wildlife and lavish accommodations as well as superb hospitality and the Reed Valley Inn is testimony to that!

Accommodation
The Reed Valley Inn accommodation consists of beautiful rooms that each have a private entrance and patio, making it perfect for those seeking the utmost privacy and seclusion. Guests have a choice of a double or twin room – each room is incredibly spacious, lavishly decorated and fully equipped with a private patio, en-suite bathroom, under-floor heating, a fire place, mini bar and more. The rooms are comfortable and the perfect accommodation to base your Amakhala adventure from. Guests will be treated to manicured gardens and a stunning, spacious room that is filled with everything they would need. The rooms are decorated in contemporary style with wood and fresh, crisp linen that provide a cool hideaway from the ever-present African sun. The rooms are perfect for a family or for a couple who are on a romantic holiday. The main lounge echoes the decor found in the rooms with the varnished wooden floors and contemporary furnishings.

Activities

There is plenty to do and see in the Amakhala Game Reserve and the Reed Valley Inn, like surrounding lodges, offers excellent safari adventures and activities. The Amakhala Game Reserve is home to the renowned Big 5 (elephant, rhino, lion, leopard and buffalo) as well as numerous other animals including zebra, giraffe, cheetah, wildebeest, antelope and an array of bird life that make for fantastic viewing opportunities.
Activities guests can enjoy at Reed Valley Inn include game drives with trained rangers who are there to show guests some of the most incredible wildlife that call the game reserve home. Guests will not only get to view and observe these fascinating animals but will also have the opportunity to learn about the animals they are viewing from the ranger. Other activities available to guests include bush walks and the unique river cruise, which goes down the Bushman’s River and is the perfect activity for bird lovers.
